The Centre de formation Saint Benoît l'Africain was built in 2013 by the franciscans with the objective to train young men and women living in the region of Korsimoro, Burkina Faso in order to give them the opportunity to start their own business and become financially independent. Korsimoro is about 70km from Ouagadougou, the capitale of Burkina Faso.
The Centre de formation Saint Benoît l'Africain welcomes around 160 students from 15 to 25 years old. It offers trainings in metallurgy, welding, mechanics, plumbing for the boys. It offers a weaving program as well as a sewing program to the young girls.
For the past 3 years, the activities of the centre have slowed down because of a lack of ressources and the students have lost hope. The Centre, managed by a new team, is now looking for help to restart its training programs in order to keep the youth occupied and give them a perspective.
The AFLÉ Foundation is helping the Centre de formation Saint Benoît l'Africain restoring its buildings and acquiring new material for their programs. Your contribution is important. Please donate here. Thank you.
